Arts Curriculum 6-8
Middle school students have the opportunity to explore or pursue a concentrated study of dance, theatre, music (jazz, symphonic, strings, vocal), visual arts and creative writing during the exploratory block.
In 8th grade, students have the opportunity to pursue a concentrated study of an arts discipline though Certificate of Artistry Preparatory courses. These courses are geared toward students who plan to pursue a Certificate of Artistry and/or Area of Concentration in the arts or humanities at Lusher High School. In 6th and 7th grades students may select two to four art forms within a school year.
Performance groups in dance, theatre, and music are available, along with the creative writing student publication, “Graffiti” to exhibit student work. Visual art exhibits are seen around the school and are displayed twice a year in our CAVA Gallery.
