    2019-20 High School Admissions Process

Lusher High School (grades 9-12) enrolls current 8th grade Lusher students who are eligible for admission. Remaining seats are filled with candidates who have applied through the application process.

The application process for the 2019-20 school year begins October 8, 2018. Applications will be available online on this date or at the school’s Freret Campus.
Applications for admission for 2019-20 are accepted between October 8, 2018 and Noon, January 11, 2019. Applications must be submitted in person at the Freret campus Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. In addition applications will also be accepted at the following dates and times: Sat. Oct. 27, 2018, 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.; Sat. Nov. 17, 2018, 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.; Sat. Dec. 8, 2018, 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. and 1:15 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.

Completed applications with all documentation attached must be submitted to the Freret Campus office at 5624 Freret Street no later than Noon, Friday, January 11, 2019.

Late applications are accepted but are processed only if there are openings available in the grade to which the student has applied and no qualified applicants remain on the waiting list. Incomplete applications are not accepted or processed.
All applicants must schedule and complete their testing at Lusher Charter School. Parents must choose a testing date when the application is submitted. Students can earn a maximum of 20 points from the admissions exam. Any student who has not earned at least 8 matrix points from the combined GPA and Arts Profile will not be scheduled for testing. Without this minimum score before testing, it would be impossible to attain the matrix score of 28 points needed to qualify for admission.

There are benefits to applying and testing early for High School applicants. All applicants completing the testing process by January 12, 2019 will receive early notification of the applicant’s matrix score and know if the child is qualified to continue in the application process. Anyone testing after January 12, 2019 will not receive information until April 8, 2019.

Lusher does not provide testing information over the phone. Test results are mailed. Please make sure the mailing address you provide is current.
